My work has been diverse, and includes figurative, landscape, still-life, and even combinations
or fusions of some or all the above. For years I have brought together various, seemingly
unrelated styles of painting and subject matter for my love of divergent influences. Often this
makes for painting that is intent on a delicate juxtaposition, a balance of order and beauty with
a subtle tension not unlike that evident between the various movements in the art world
(see
the Contemporary Landscape and Contemporary Still-Life paintings). More recently I have also
begun to work on a cycle that brings together objects, colours and textures that in my
experience speak to human sexuality in a playful way without degenerating into the decadence
common to the subject in contemporary art; indeed, the series - beginning with Eye Candy -
was in part an answer to the banal porn that passes for art today.
