The artist excels in oil and mixed media painting, but it is his encaustic work that has garnered him international attention. There are few artists who have pushed the medium to such refinement as is typical in Capolongo’s work.

AGH April 2009: One of Canada's largest public art galleries has acquired an original work by Capolongo for its permanent collection. With the aid of the Women's Art Association of Hamilton the Art Gallery of Hamilton has added Bruno's encaustic painting 'Urn, Quince and Pence' to its impressive collection.
